Drones Team
About the team
Based out of Dover, Florida, the Strawberry Crest high school, Army JROTC, Aerial Drone Team brings together 10 cadets who love flight, coding, and teamwork. We spend our time learning match strategies, programming flight paths, and working through the practical challenges that come with piloting competition drones. Outside of match days, our goal is simple: show other cadets what piloting is all about and help each other build the discipline and leadership it takes to be good citizens.

What you can learn
Our program gives cadets direct experience with hands-on building, flight path coding, and problem-solving under real competition conditions. Because the team is entirely cadet-led, members take full ownership of flight operations, strategic planning, and fixing technical issues as they pop up. Flying drones teaches cadets how to analyze mistakes, think logically through flight code, and find clear solutions as a team. Everything we do connects directly back to JROTC values—building strong communication, accountability, and practical leadership through real-world STEM projects.
