Award Criteria



Rifle Cord
This cord is given to cadets on the Rifle team. This is earned by ( however they get it ). this is worn on the right side.
Priority: C+
Staff Cord
This cord is given to cadets on Staff. This cord is required to be worn on the right side.
Priority: S
Color Guard Cord
This cord is given to cadets who are on color guard. Cadet must do ( number color guards) to earn this.

Land Navigation Cord
This cord is given to cadets who compete in orienteering. Cadet must do ( number of comps) to earn this. This is worn on the right side.
Priority: B-
These cords are earned from different teams, and position. They can be earned easily or be revoked if used wrongly. A cadet's cord(s) MUST be worn at all times unless said otherwise by TOP-3, AI, or SAI.
The letters represent which cords are more important than another.
"S" This cord is REQUIRED to stay on the right side.
"A" is the highest meaning the cadet MUST wear it on their right side. It can NOT be on the left.
"D" is the lowest meaning the cadet MUST wear it, however if a cord is higher that itself then it must be moved to the other side

Exhibition Cord
This cord is given to cadets who call an Exhibition formation during a competition. Cadet must do ( number of calls) to earn this. This is worn on the right side.
Priority: A+
Squad Leader Cord
This cord is given to Squad Leaders in company. This cord is worn on the right side.
Priority: B+

Return policy
Cords must be returned to the supply room in JROTC at the last month of school if the cadet is a senior, not returning to the program, or switching schools. The cadet MUST inform the SAI or AI that they have returned their cord. These cords are NOT for keeping, unlike the ribbons, arcs, or medals. If a cadet does NOT return the cord, they must pay however much the cord costs; if failure to do so, they WILL NOT GRADUATE.
